Next Saturday, 17th May, we have our plant sale at Lowdham Village Hall car park from 9am to 11am.  There will be bedding plants, vegetables, annuals, and perennials available – all at a good price. Donations of plants are always welcome!

This Bank Holiday Monday we will holding a Scarecrow Trail as part of Lowdham’s  May Day Celebrations.  Lowdham residents and businesses have been invited to enter scarecrows on a music theme this year.  The scarecrows will be judged on the Sunday and left out for viewing on the Monday.  A Scarecrow Trail will be available for people to follow, so they know where they can see them.  The trail can be picked up from the Village Hall,  where there is May Day Afternoon Tea and stalls from 1.30 to 4.30pm. Trails are also available by emailing the Society.

Just a quick reminder for those who have signed up for the hanging basket workshop next week.

We meet at 7.30 pm on Thursday evening at Hilltop Nursery, Lambley Lane, Gedling. Most of you have already paid £2 deposit, which covers the cost of the demonstration and refreshments.  We will be given ideas about how to put a hanging basket together, by the staff there and then will have chance to produce our own!  You can choose to bring your own empty hanging basket or pot, or buy one on the evening to fill.  Each person will then be charged separately for the cost of the plants they have used.

Next Sunday, 13th April, is our Spring Show.  Entries need to be in between 9.30 and 11.30am.  The schedule can be downloaded from our website, is available at ‘Lowdham Post Office’ or ‘The Bookcase’ and is also in this April’s Parish Magazine.  The show opens at 1pm with prize giving at 3.30pm.  There will be a display of artwork by the ‘Lowdham Painting for Pleasure’ group as well as a display of floral art by the ‘Lowdham Saint Mary’s Flower Guild’. Admission is only £1.50 and refreshments will be available.
